This week’s theme is growth:
Something about the baby orang utan hanging out with his mom, snacking on fruits, makes me think of “growth.” We saw these guys last May when we visited Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo. We were just a few feet away from about a dozen orang utans in the sanctuary. It was definitely one of my favorite travel experiences. Now I just need to find one of those places where you can hold the baby orang utans!
Also, on the same trip, we were able to see the largest flower in the world: the Raffelesia. Here’s Alex leaning over a slightly dying flower (they only “bloom” for about 5 days every few months, so we were lucky to even see one at this stage).
We also got to see a bud, just about to bloom. It’s bigger than Alex’s head!
I’d say that exemplifies growth, wouldn’t you?
