Today begins our three week semester break! We started celebrating in style last night with a hi so (a cute Thai nickname for “high society) evening of drinks at the Banyan Tree’s Vertigo, dubbed the highest open-air bar in southeast Asia, and dinner at the Suan Lum night bazaar.
We arrived just after five, in time to see the cloudy gray skies over the city:
Got to watch the beautiful sunset, while enjoying our drinks:
Enjoyed seeing the evening lights slowly brighten:
And eventually headed back down to the city for some tasty Thai food:
Along with our lovely friends:
The perfect way to start a holiday break, if you ask me!
What are you doing this holiday season?

Thanks for sharing some of your good times with us. I particularly like the photos, especially of the Bangkok skyline. You must have some powerful camera to take such superb shots.
Cheers!

Remember to drop by the MBK – great place
And a wonderful way it was to start our Semester Break dear friend! It was a brilliant night – loads of laughs and excellent conversations. Thanks for organising!
I haven’t had a chance to upload my pics yet, but the news about my camera is not so good. It’s definitely broken and guess what?? Nikon does not make d40′s anymore!! I’m frantically trying to find one still in stock before we come back.
Enjoy your semester break – look forward to seeing your photos of that!!
Nice work. Bangkok has been a part of my life since I was 11 years old.
Hi,
I wonder if you can direct me. I attend a Buddhist temple in Rosemead, CA. We are in the process of re-designing our emblem/logo for our website and to use on our Buddhist publications. I was searching for images of a Bodhi tree which we’ll be using along with a sitting Buddha, and came upon the beautiful artwork you posted on your blog. I made a b/w graphic of it and would like to make a donation to the artist who originally made the drawing.
I will sincerely say you actually establish some outstanding ideas and I will post a number of good ideas to add to briefly.
