Today, my wonderful husband surprised me with a bright bouquet of sunflowers:

I love getting flowers! There’s just something about having fresh flowers in your house. I wish I could get my act together to have them more frequently – I certainly have enough empty vases lying around. I love all kinds of flowers, but my favorites are orchids and calla lilies, which is why I had them in my bouquet:

(I really can work in a wedding reference into pretty much any post… it’s quite a talent).
What kinds of flowers do you like?

Aww.. Your husband is so sweet…
I love roses, dark or pastel-coloured ones, it doesn’t really matter. And I love lilies. My boyfriend gave me a bouquet of white lilies on our graduation 3 years ago
I love tulips and stargazers.
Your bouquet is beautiful! I love orchids, tulips, daffodils, hyaciths, wisteria, lavender, sweet peas, hydrangeas, and about a thousand other kinds of flowers that I just can’t remember right now, or just don’t know the name of. Plumerias. Plumerias are in the top 5, too. I love the way they smell.
lovely bouquet!
flowers …. i like all of them!
That’s a great surprise from your sweet husband.
That bouquet is beautiful!
I love sunflowers too. In fact, my husband gave me a beautiful sunflower before. I also like collecting things with sunflower designs. I also like tulips but I’ve never received one before. I find different colors of tulips very beautiful to look at.
You’ve reminded me that I need to bring flowers home more often. My beautiful wife deserves them.
I followed your link home from Roxanne’s (SRP/Melange) site, and I look forward to reading more. I hope you’ll pop by my site and say hi as well.
All the best,
Carmi

Pelf,
Oooo, white lilies! I love it!
Nina,
My friend has a great tattoo of a stargazer – they are beautiful.
Sijbrich,
Wow! I’m impressed at your fluency in flower names. I really had to reach for the three I was describing. I learned them all when I was deciding on florals for the wedding, but they seem to have been quickly forgotten….
Maiylah,
Thank you!
Rach,
Tulips are so common in Europe – Alex used to get them for me all the time when we lived in Germany, but they are very expensive here in southeast Asia. They are beautiful, though, with the long stems and simple bulb!
Carmi,
What a good husband you are! Your pictures on your blog are stunning! I will definitely be visiting again
Flowers are nice, but I’m not a big bouquet person. I have this idea to have different types of grasses for my wedding bouquet, but my family just thinks I’m crazy. Maybe I’ll have spineless cacti instead…
I love both arrangements. I don’t want to burst your bubble but in the top pictures those are not sunflowers. They are gerber daises, larger version of the daisy.
