Reading this blog post made me realize how much I miss Munich. Surprising, but true. I even kind of miss snow. I never thought the day would come…
A few choice memories to bring tears to my eyes:

Ah, the biergarten. Just the thought of it brings a smile to my face. And this one was right around the corner from our house – the largest biergarten in Germany, the Hirschgarten (yes, there are deer there).

Come on! We used to see perfect little Bavarian houses like this all the time. Too cute for words.
“Downtown” at dusk.

Marienplatz. Makes me think of dinners at Riva. I miss real Italian pizza…
A lot of rainy days, but we also saw a lot of rainbows (this is the view from our old flat).

There is nowhere better to spend Christmas than Munich. Nowhere.

So cozy. I can not believe I miss snow. Munich had the best snow. Thick, fluffy, soft, gigantic flakes.
MIS in all it’s glory. My favorite part was seeing the Alps every day, off in the distance, as I walked to school.

Oh Kim! I love these pics. They make me verklempt and I was only in Munich for a year. It really is a great place to live. And you’re right, there’s no Christmas like Christmas in Bavaria.
Who would have thought? After all that complaining? The grass is always greener on the other side, right? Although I do love Malaysia, it’s just nice to remember the wonderful things about Munich. Sometimes I still kind of feel like I live there and that this is just one long vacation…
Seriously. Munich just seems better and better the longer I’m away. I miss the pretzels and beer. And the U-bahn and S-bahn. Great city.
